Nana Barima Amankwah is an accomplished professional with expertise in marketing, banking, microfinance, and credit management. With a distinguished career spanning several reputable and blue-chip organizations across multiple industries, including banking, microfinance, insurance, and manufacturing close to twenty years.
He has held various executive and senior management roles, such as Chief Operating Officer, Head of Banking Operations, Retail Banking Manager, Product Development Manager, Marketing Manager, and Branch Manager, among others.
He holds a double master’s degree in Marketing (MBA) and Microfinance (MSc.), alongside a bachelor’s degree in Management Studies from reputable institutions. Additionally, he possesses a Professional Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM-UK) and other international certifications in Strategic Management and Operations Management. Currently, he is pursuing a Master of Arts in Organization Development.
Nana Barima Amankwah has participated in numerous local and international training programs focused on business management, credit management, banking operations, workplace development, and corporate governance.
He has also designed and facilitated specialized training workshops for financial and non-financial institutions, covering areas such as strategy, operations management, process design and reviews, organizational restructuring, product development, and credit management.
His research interests span marketing and sales management, product development, market research and analysis, customer satisfaction, business ethics, business process reengineering, frontline management, marketing communication, and facilitation skills for microfinance institutions.
As a seasoned industry expert, he possesses a deep understanding of the banking and specialized deposit-taking sectors, with keen insights into the critical challenges affecting the industry. A highly skilled communicator, he excels in professional writing, including report development, and has a strong command of statistical software such as Excel, SPSS, and STATA. Ebenezer Anuwa-Amarh Tawiah is a distinguished Ghanaian with extensive expertise in academic, research, governance, entrepreneurship, and development studies. He holds a Master of Philosophy (M. Phil) degree in Development Studies and a Bachelor's degree in Geodetic Engineering.
Anuwa-Amarh is the chairman of ARISE. He is also a Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Development and Technology Management (IDTM), Cape Coast, Ghana. He teaches Development Experience and Technology Management, as well as Entrepreneurship. He previously worked with the Catholic Relief Services/Ghana, KPMG/Ghana, and was a former Commissioner of Ghana's National Development Planning Commission.
He is the Impact & Research Lead of the Engagement Company, which has its office in the Netherlands. He is also a fellow of the European School of Governance. As a respected and dedicated impact and research professional with over thirty (30) years of experience, he harnesses knowledge to provide insight into complex research, development, and entrepreneurial issues. His research interests are in the informal economy, entrepreneurship, and inclusive growth.
He works closely with institutions and individuals to generate options for policy and action. In this role, he empowers people and organisations in developing, transition, and industrialised countries to cope with sustainable development challenges under increasingly challenging conditions.
